Grasscloth is the paper Pearland dining rooms and studies ask for, and the paper that punishes a rushed install. The fiber is natural. Color varies from panel to panel. Seams are visible. That is the material, not a defect. The installer’s job is to shuffle panels so the variation reads as texture, keep dye lots together, and refuse rooms that will stain or swell it.

Humidity in this part of Texas is not theoretical. A grasscloth wall in a closed, air-conditioned room can look right for years. The same goods in a guest bath off a Pearland primary suite, with the fan off and the shower running, will stain and lift. If you want that room finished in paper, use a coated product and read bathrooms and kitchens.
How we hang it
Walls are smoothed and primed first. Panels are dry-laid or sequenced for shade. Seams are tight. Some fibers want a double-cut seam; some want a butted seam. The label decides, not habit. Adhesive is what the manufacturer specifies for natural goods — often a clay adhesive — because a light clear paste lets heavy fiber slip and seam-open. We do not reverse-hang a grasscloth unless the maker says to. Reversing the wrong fiber makes the shading worse.
Order extra. Damage on a natural good is not something a leftover scrap from a different lot will hide. If you are comparing this to printed paper, start with grasscloth on the Gulf Coast and the cost guide. Labor is higher because the material is slower and less forgiving.

Can grasscloth go in a Pearland bathroom?
